Can you get Supervisor training when volunteering in a charity shop?
Asked by Rainbow Bob
I was wondering if you can get supervisor training when volunteering in a charity shop? And if so, how should I ask about it?

Best Answer:
You could do the NVQ in team leading, most colleges offer this - and use your volunteering experience for the course work.

Hi. Your shop manager will likely be impressed with your desire to develop your skills. Don't put off asking for training. Training budgets are likely to be limited at present but your organisation may have preferential terms with a college / professional training vendor. If you mention that you work in a charity shop to the training vendor, you never know, they may wish to support your work by giving you the course at a heavily discounted rate or even for free.
