Asked by osugirl
I only have 8 months of job experience and it is customer service. I really don't like the position and would like to do something else. Unfortunately I don't know what I would like.. So what CAN I do with as little as experience I have, in a different field?

There are plenty of natural career choices when starting in cs. What kind of company do you work for? If it is a Fortune 500 company then you are in LUCK! All Fortune 500 companies have some type of career development program based on a few things: performance, diversity initiatives and education.
First meet with your boss and let him/her know you are interested in learning all you can at the company and that you'd eventually like to move into sales or marketing. He/she should put together a career development plan with you to ensure you develop the skills in order to move into that department.
More than likely customer service employees move into sales or marketing, unless you are technically inclined many move into IT. Or if you are analytical you can even move into accounting or finance. Of course this depends on your education as well.
If you do not have a bachelor's degree, then you should see if your company has a tuition reimbursement program. Most Fortune 500 companies offer 50% or 100% tuition reimbursement. If your current job is a no brainer, then continue to do it while you get your degree.
