A 29 years male Indian undergraduate guy need career guidance?
Asked by Rahul
I am a male indian guy from a middle class family and from small indian town (taluka place). I have completed 29 years of age will turn thirty in some months. My school education is in marathi medium from a convent school. I can read, write and speak fluent marathi and hindi and can read and write and speak english but not so fluent. I have cleared 10 years of school with very excellent results. But after that I have done a 3 years of electrical engineering diploma (1st year with second class,2nd year with pass class and 3rd year with second class) in 4 years each year with a.t.k.t. and with 52%. I know if I would have studied that time I could have a better result. I was unaware of the available fields and job prospectus. I was idle for 6 months searching for jobs. After getting result I worked for 8 months with a small scale distribution and power transformer repairing unit where I didn't got knowledge of that field. After that on someone's suggestion I done a one year part time diploma in computer applications. I cleared that diploma without in depth knowledge. While doing that i worked nowhere and also after doing that i didnt searched job in computers. Then I dont remember where i passed 2/3 years, during one of which i was at home due to medical surgery. I worked for a private ltd company for about 1y and 8 months where i had to travel extensively on engineering sites as a service engineer for electrical control panels. There also I was not satisfied with the knowledge I was getting and the discipline. I left that company. Then I done a 15days course on electrical drives and after that I joined a private limited company where my job profile was very excellent but I was lacking in depth knowledge. So I think because of that I had been tortured to the extent that my mental condtion got ill. I worked there for 8 months. I left that job with disgrace and was at home for about one year. I suddenly came to know that my thinking is captured and today also I believe that. I took medical treatment to some extent. But I dont think, it will work. After one year at home I joined one limited company as a maintenance engineer where I worked successfullly and dominantly. But this time also due to some reason I had to left that company after 4 months. During working I realized the importance of graduation and as I was interested in computers field, I joined B Sc IT full time which was giving me graduation in 2years. But during study I realised that I have lost that efficiency in studying which I was having during diploma or school days. I somehow cleared 2nd year(3rd sem with pass class in second attempt, 4th sem with second class). I also cleared 5th board sem with second class and recently had given 6th sem exam which I dont think I will clear. Also I have been told that the IT field needs post graduation if you want growth. Now as I am 29 years old my parents are insisting on my marriage due to community problems. So full time PG is not possible for me and as I am fresher I dont think I will get a good salaried job in IT field enough for a married couple. I am very confused in choosing the field for job. Though I am having these problems my AMBITIONS are very high. One of them is getting settled in US. My qualities are highly confident, hard working, truly honest to the work, every time hungry for new knowledge, problem solving scientific approach, keen observation. I am interested in following fields In computers - network security and programming for scientific, engineering applications and for govt intelligence agency In engineering - design, merchant navy, armed forces, telecom Also I am interested to work for indian intelligence agency, working for discovery like channels studying nature and animals. I request if anybody can suggest me a good option for further studies (preferably with scholarships) Also option for job from abovesaid options through which I can get my AMBITION and can survive because I guess it's too late for me. If anybody can suggest me free career counselling sites.
