Want to know...
Allow company to use your resume to bid on project for potential job offer?
Asked by Want to know...
Is it OK/normal practice to let company use your resume to bid on contract/project before you have the job or job offer? I recently got interview with a very reputable company for a job. They are saying the position is for a future project they are bidding for. Now they want to use my resume to bid on that project. I am not sure if I should give my approval to use my resume for the project since I am not their employee yet.

That's an interesting one! :) Do you want to work with them? Does the project sound like something that you would be interested in doing? If so, I'd let them use it - However, I would hammer out some details BEFORE you give them the right to do that. First of all, money! You are in the drivers seat here if they need your background for the project. Secondly, benefits and other details. If they can't give you some answers on that, I'd pass. Because once they get the contract, all negotiations become more difficult for you. Hope that that helps -
