What are the job prospects for the drafting profession?

I ask this because I'm planning to go back to school for CAD and civil drafting and I was wondering if someone could help me? If I find that the market isn't favorable, I'll change my major, of course. I have an aptitude for drawing technical details and I'd like to continue if I know there's a market for it.

Jobs are few and the pay absolutely stinks. IF you get hired, don't expect more than $30K.
