For your skills you should list such items as: Dependable, flexible, dedicated. Able to follow directions, clean driving record, also list able to work well both with a team and alone. Independent and needs little supervision. Pays special attention to detail and get the job done. Basically most employers don't necessarily want someone with experience, they just want someone who's going to show up to work and they'll do the rest (train you). So under your skills section pump yourself up this way, and in your work history if any tie what you've done to these attributes listed above. Best of luck!

If you have no work related experience with painting, then just be honest and say so. No employer can punish you for not having experience. But when you be honest with them, also communicate to them that you are a hard worker, and willing to learn, even if it means staying some extra hours for training. The object here is to convince them that you are the right person for this job. Nobody else but you. :-) hope this helps.

Say general things like you are a hard worker, devoted employee, willing to be trained, enjoy learning new things, that you are a quick study (it's another way of saying you learn things quickly), ability to work well independently, if you enjoy painting, tell them you enjoy painting and would like to learn more about being a painter. Whatever you do, don't say you have experience if you don't. Good luck getting the job! :O)

List any jobs that you have previously held. If there are any involving a similar work situation--manual labor, painting, being outside--be sure to highlight these. They may be to your benefit as they show you have been in a similar work situation.
