What kind of a job is a business office assistant? Does it generally pay more than a receptionist?

Right now I'm a receptionist at a rehab hospital front desk, I get $9/hr it used to be 11, but they cut the night time differential. I'm going to interview this week for a business office assistant, I'm going to take the job if offered, but I'm wondering how different is it and does it pay more? It's part time - 20 hours a week. This job is like the job where I'm working now, it's a hospital. Except my job is extremely broke and they cut corners wherever they can. There is no such position where I am now, so I don't know anything about it. I know what the Business Office Person does but I'm sure it's not normal to hide from the people that the company owes and have to constantly stall other companies about when they're going to get paid.

The first thing you should do is find out all you can about the company where you will be interviewing. The duties of the job will be explained to you during the interview, but if you can show knowlege about the company and what it does, they will know that you are interested enough to find out. If you are now getting $9.00 an hour, are there other benefits such as vacation and medical coverage. You need to know the value of the benefits as well as the basic wage. If the new job is 20 hours a week, does it allow enough time to get a second job.
