What is it like to work as a Housekeeper in a hospital?
Asked by кяιѕтιηα ✯
My local hospital needs a FT Housekeeper and I was thinking of applying but I would like to know what its like first. The thing is that I don't know how to clean very well. Will they train me or expect me to know how to mop? It says 0 years experience required. Is it a stressful job? Anything else I need to know?

Hospitals have a battery of standards to maintain because of health regulations.
The best way of "thinking clean" is the white glove test. After you clean in a hospital setting, would a white glove swipped across a cleaned object find any dirt/soil/dust?
Mopping is not difficult either. There should be someone to show you "how" they expect it done.
You will be busy...you can bet. You may be around patient rooms quite a bit, so having a warm and nice personality will be very beneficial in doing the work and interacting with the public. All jobs have a degree of stress, and its up to you how you handle it and react to it on a daily basis.
