That is a very difficult question to answer, because there are so many variables. What kind of firm and its size, how much experience you have when you become licensed, and where in the country you live can all factor into what salary a fully licensed architect can expect to make. The best thing to do is to consult the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which keep salary data for over 800 occupations at different locales. According to the BLS, the national mean (average) salary for an architect is $76,750. Of course, this includes architects of all levels, locations, firm types and sizes. I would imagine that this number excludes those who are NOT licensed, because they are not technically "architects." Visit the website below to see the BLS numbers...it is a really awesome database!
