CCC
is earning 45K a year base salary as a hedge fund analyst a good offer?
Asked by CCC
I am a recent college grad who land an entry hedge fund job. I live in a small town. Although it is a small firm that I am in. I want to know what is the average salary offer in this field during the economic reccession? This is without bonus, only base salary.

In a hedge fund the bonus is the main consideration, not the base. If your bonus is even close to the median figure of $2.5 Million for the industry, you are doing very, very well. The base salary is considered as noise, just enough to tide you over until bonus time. But a 45K "noise" figure is very good in my reckoning.
