If you want to be a nurse then you need more education. Best advice, finish the GED and then start shopping for schools. There are 3 roads to RN and they are: Diploma RN: these programs are offered by hospital-owned schools of nursing. These programs take 2.5-3years to complete. You will rotate within that hospital and those within its system. You will have a wealth of clinical experience and just enough academics to sit for your boards. In the end, you will be awarded a diploma. Associates Degree Nurse: offered by community colleges. Generally takes 3 years to complete. You must successfully complete all of the required, non-nursing courses prior to admission to the nursing program. The final year is all of your required nursing courses with clinicals. In the end, you will receive an Associate's of Applied Science (or your state's equivalent) and be eligible to sit for your boards. Also, you will be prepared to move onto a BSN if you choose with relative ease. Bachelor of Science: Nursing (BSN): offered by 4 year colleges, You will take all of your courses like a regular college student and graduate with a BSN at the end and be eligible to sit for your boards. Advantage here, you will be prepared for management positions and eligible to apply to Master's/Doctoral programs for CRNA, CRNP, DNP, DNSc and similar programs. Good Luck

After becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant, you will need to work on becoming a registered nurse. You will eventually need a bachelor of science in nursing, but some people find it easier to get an associates degree in nursing from a community college and than go on after they start working and take night classes for BSN degree. See here for a better description of these http://www.become-a-nurse-now.com/nurse-education.html After you get your BSN, becoming a nurse practitioner is a master program through a university. http://www.become-a-nurse-now.com/Masters-in-Nursing.html There are some places that will reimburse you for your tuition after school, or even pay for your school as you go as long as you plan to work in a certain hospital or even state for a few years after graduation. Check with your local schools for more details about what is available in your area.
