Should I change career from Auto Technician to Surgical Technologist I am 45 and been in Autos for 19 years?

It gets harder to change careers but it's never too late. If you feel it's the right thing to do, then go for it. I was stuck in a career until I turned 39 and finally switched. I am soooo happy I changed. I'm normally a very happy person and love my work but over the years it was starting to really rip me up inside. I knew I had to change jobs. I don't regret the extra work I had to do in between to make it happen-it was all worth it. Now I'm making much better money, have better benefits and most of all I'm happier than I've been in years.

I would imagine you probably have to go to school full time for a year or two to be able to do that - can you survive without one paycheck for 1-2 yrs and hope you get a job?
