Best Answer:
Yes, and stay away from nursing, you will weekends off and holidays
and if you are lucky enough to find a dentist to work for he may even
help you out with the schedule so you can continue your education
A:
Any education is good for you, especially since dental hygienist is so closely related to dentistry.
If you are working, then taking classes will be harder, but if you are motivated, and follow your dream, you will do it.

Yes, it is an important career choice. It helps the dentist and improves the gums and teeth of patients. I think you could study being a dentist half time.

Being a dental hygienist is a great career. They get paid very well in BC compared to Ontario where there is a lot of competition. You can work full time or part time. A good career option for a female if you are planning to have family. If you want to become a dentist afterwards, you will have to apply to dental school and go through the program as everyone else. Have taken hygiene may got give you an advantage. Getting in is very competitive. Being a dentist does carry significantly more stress as you are doing more complicated procedures, have to manage the office and staff, etc. The life of a hygienist is relatively stress-free.

It is a great career, if you can find a job. Many jobs out there only offer part time hours with no benefits. I love being a hygienist and working with people! I was recently laid off from a job that I loved and now I am having a really hard time finding another RDH job that offers me enough hours to pay my bills. Best of luck to you!
