What are some good jobs for 14 year olds?

Im a 14 year old girl and I live in Illinois. I don't live that far from Elmhurst, Illinois. What are some good jobs for 14 year olds like me. I am interesting in doing a part time job in the following areas: -cashier at a clothing/grocery/etc store -swim teacher assistant -working at a desk/computer work So please give all your ideas. Check with your parents who have friends who may hire someone to do the light kind of work you mentioned....McDonald's will hire under 16 for clean up only... You could volunteer with the Red Cross or YMCA just to get some skills/experience. But your best bet is Childcare. There's big bucks in child care. Summer is a time where even stay at home moms need a break....even if you spend the day fingerpainting and watching kids in the sprinkler or pool, you could rake in the dough. Charge per child. $5. an hour is the going rate and add a dollar for every additional child. You 'd be surprised. I once hired an older child to teach my sons how to play soccer...they all had a ball (pardon the pun...), I had the day off and the kid made good money. Good Luck!

I would contact your local grocery store, McDonald's, or try looking into a paper route.
