How long will it take to become Cisco Certified CCNA?

I just finished getting a BS degree in Management of Information Systems. I am 29 years old. How long will it take to become Cisco certified. What is the outlook and salary for having Cisco certification? Please be honest

I would say for a rookie it is 25-30k pounds sterling. To get the certification it vary: from 8 weeks (online course, no lab) to 12 months (course at university on the 2nd year).
