Find an internship where you can learn the field and build up your skills. You'll likely have to move to certain cities with more companies in this industry. But do some research and see if you can find any of these companies in your local area. Freelance work is another option you can check out. I've made some great job searching advice and recommendation on my personal website, so check here for some suggestions: http://www.hireme101.com/jobsearch.html. Good luck!

There are lot of QA / Testing IT jobs available. You will have to send your resume to recruiters specialized in IT. They can help you find a project, contract, full time job. That will be your best approach. Try using contracts for geeks which is a database of IT recruiters. It had helped me getting a 2 year contract in IT industry.

I have seen one of those scams before. There was I guy I know who found a game testing position that wasn't even real, and he found out about it through a scam website that used a web spider. I got a game testing job through the membership at www.GameTestersNetwork.com. There they had a classifieds section for REAL video game companies. It cost $37, but a lifetime membership to game company classifieds, and legit e books on how to be a video game tester is worth it. I didn't even have to use their refund. Well, good luck then. PS: If you want more info, check out the video I referenced, it talks all about the system.
