Career Questions and Answers

Doloris C
What do you have to do, college wise, to do clerical work?
Asked by Doloris C
I'm going to be graduating from high school soon and I want to be a personal assistant, secretarial work, and I don't know what I have to do, to do it. Like are they're special college classes out there for this type of stuff? What do I need to learn in college to do this kind of work? If any one can help, I would greatly appreciate it. If any one has ever tried to figure out what they want to do after high school they must know its difficult so thank you.

I can relate, i had a similar dilemma back when i graduated high school. What i did was i took data entry courses in high school i attended boces tech. Upon my high school graduation i took a college course entitled Office Administration, business concentration. I don't know if the major's name has been altered since i graduated in 2005. You can get your Associates degree, Bachelor's degree and Masters degree in the office administration field. Office administrative work is well within secretarial guidelines. I most certainly hope that this answer is of good service to you. Good luck on your career decisions!
past experience, I am an Office Administrator now.
