What is the diff. between an associate and a sales associate?

i'm applying for jobs, most of them are under "sales associate" but one job i applied to the position is "associate" .. are they bascially the same thing? or is one position 'higher' then the other?

Associate - A term used by some companies instead of employee Sales Associate - involved in selling products or services in return for money or other compensation I hope this helps. Good luck in your job search

As the author of the job search book "Think Like an Interviewer: Your Job Hunting Guide to Success," I can tell you that with sales-related positions, "Associate" is a very common term that simply means salesperson. In other words, some employers call their sales personnel "sales reps." Others refer to them as being "associates." Or calling them "sales associates."
