Why do the guys that think get paid more than the guys that actually do the job?
Asked by GG
The guys that do the job have the expertise, the skills, the whatever ... you name it.
The executives don't do anything; they just order around and be bossy. WTF?
I'm not talking about managers here; they are indeed, needed - they are the brain of the operation; they need to coordinate projects. I'm talking about the executives, VPs, and all the other bosses that all they do is NOTHING.
This seems to me incredibly unfair: bonuses should be applied for the hard-working laborers, not to executives to have private jets.
Most of the times, the upper level guys have no real life sense of what it means to actually do the job.

Hm...I highly recommend that you spend a little more time with the executives where you work. I work at corporate HQ, with the highest level executives, and they work harder than any (ANY) other employees.
Alternately, look for a new employer, that isn't staffed with worthless executives! I suppose it's true that there are worthless execs out there...thank goodness I don't have to deal with them personally!
The reason they get paid more is because the work they do is more important. It's true that "the little guy" gets the work done, but remember that it's the executive who has to be smart enough to hire the right employees. And meanwhile, they're planning the course that the company will be taking over the next several years. They're working the relationships with customers and suppliers, and paving the way for new factories to be built. They're working with investors to ensure that there's funding for the growth that they're working toward.
Seriously, they don't NEARLY just sit around and take personal flights from one place to another. My boss usually has work scheduled from 7 am to 7 pm, and usually works outside the schedule at both ends.
I understand your frustration, but I think you're looking at the situation with an unrealistic bias. What you've heard in the news isn't 100% accurate, and neither are the rumors that run around the factory floor.
