will volunteering at a hospital as a phlebotomist, get me experience and a job?
Asked by diesel
In dec2008 i recieved my certificate as a phlebotomist. I have been waiting for a job opening at the local labs. It is now August. The last experience i had was back in Nov2008. I tried to apply at another facility however, they want somone with more experience. Do you think this will help me, if i volunteer at a hospital or outpatient facility? thanks in advance!

I suggest you go back to your college and see if you can bridge over to the Medical Assisting program. There are not many jobs right now for phlebotomists. See if you can volunteer at a clinic rather than a hospital. That's what I would do.

maybe not a job right way, but you could always get yourself some experience to feel confident when you goes for an interview.
