Career Questions and Answers

Ms. Nee
Should I switch from becoming a Respiratory Therapist as a career to a RN?
Asked by Ms. Nee
I'm going to school for Respiratory Therapy, but at the same time considering becoming a Registered Nurse. Just trying to see if its worth me switching up my school and if so what will it take. I really want to be a Respiratory Therapist, but I know RN's makes better money.

RNs get paid just a little bit more then RTs but they are constantly on their feet caring for their patients. RTs are strictly respiratory and deal with traumas and codes, the rest of the time you are just waiting. I think of RTs as firefighters. They are mainly resting waiting for an emergency, but when they are up and doing business they can be very essential on the team. Im also in RT school and so far I have no regrets. Try to love your career, and show that your passionate about it. This can be good for you because when you do your internship the staff would recommend you to hire. there is nothing better then waking up in the morning doing every morning loving what you do and at the same time getting paid for it! GOOD LUCK!
I am an RT student
