First, you need to understand the differences between the two careers: Marketing Manager - Will develop and manage marketing strategies (the 4Ps of marketing: products, pricing, placement and promotion), typically for different products, programs or companies depending on the industry and company at which he/she works. Product Manger - Responsible for leading/running all elements of a business. Tasks will include: Evaluating the market, defining the product, developing the business case, getting management approval, developing the product, developing the marketing plan, bringing the product to market, managing the ongoing business operations of the product line, product or business. So, the requirements for a product manager are greater, in this case requiring both a BS degree and an MBA. So to your question: Which is more "creative"? It depends on how you define "creative" and on what you think you will enjoy doing. The marketing manager, who will work on many different products/programs, will have to analyze more products and create more marketing plans. This is definitely a creative position! On the other hand, the product manager will face the challenge of defining and building one or more businesses over a career. Depending on what you are looking for, this could be more challenging and creative. I hope this helps.
