Why do my bosses pair me up with the worst partners?
Asked by gripper2
At my job we usually have a 3 man crew. A crane operator, a lead rigger and another rigger. There are about 18 cranes there and they are always changing out my partners. If they turn out to be a good worker they send him of to another crane, if they are bad they stay with me for a while. If for some reason they get moved, they replace him with the worst of our other riggers. I have the biggest and most powerful crane there and it is no place for someone that is no good. Why do you think they do this to me? Is it a compliment or what?

In my opinion, they would never give someone who doesn't really know their job to someone who wouldn't care about making sure they do. Obviously they think highly about you as trainer. Yes, I would take it as a compliment. Too bad they don't give you extra money for weeding out the good from the bad. Keep doing a great job!
