What is a good salary for a lab assistant in Fresno, CA just out of college?

I just graduated with a biology degree and have done a year or masters work but want to move out the CA. I was offered a job as a lab assistant for an agriculture company. Would $40,000 be a good starting salary?

I would say around $100,000. If they aren't offering that you are getting ripped off!!!
