Supply chain operations management career?
Asked by multifacetedaura
What can you expect with a bachelor's degree in this area? Would taking mandarin as a minor be a huge plus? Is there more of planning/math/communication involved? Is there any creativity whatsoever in this field? An answer to any of these questions or any extra info would be great!

Well, getting your bachelors in this area is fine - but limiting...getting a solid business degree and taking a minor in this area will make you more marketable (in case you do not like supply chain - and it is a tough eat 'em up field) Planning in the field - YES..it's constant. Math, YES - budgets/expenses/etc - it's a part of daily life/headaches. Creativity - depends on who you work for - but at best, it's LIMITED. Polices are there for a reason. Procedures too. The best you can hope for is to implement a new policy/procedure. Got any more questions, feel free to ask - I've got lots of great experience in the field.
