I've applied to my local gamestop more than 7 times in the past 2 years and i never get accepted. They are hiring in September so this time i really want to stand out, so i thought building a resume would help but i never made a resume before or know how for that matter. I have a lot of knowledge with gaming, technology and computers. I am a hardcore gamer and it has been a little dream of mine to work at a gamestop for a while know, because i know if i get a job there i would do great. can anyone help me or give me some tips..i really want this job! Here's The Honest Truth. They Judge You A Lot. You Got To Know Someone There That Will Hook You Up As A Reference. Ummm... Example.... I Always Went To My Local Gamestop and bought games, then one day in the morning I walked in to my gamestop to buy a game when some lady walked in looking for a console for his son. The manager was the only worker in the store, and i just walked in 5 minutes before the lady came in. She needed some help looking for the right console for her son, and the manager was kind of busy so I let the lady know what console did what, what features it has and etc... so she ended up buying a Xbox 360 with 2 new games. The manager noticed that I was good with customers and very persuasive at selling things. So we started chating and started to get to know each other, when a random guy walks in and ask's for a gamestop application and the manager said,"no, don't have any copies right now, go to gamestop.com and get the application there." and the guy was like,"ok." and he left then we started talking again, and he said,"hey man if you ever need a job let me know i'll help you out and he did. The thing is i didn't know he was the manager until he told me he could help me lol. Umm... Yeahh :D Oh Yeah Look Very Well Dressed When Getting An Application And Have A Nice Decent Hair Cut. Umm..... Good Luck.. Btw.. You Must Have Most of The Days Available To Work. P.S. Always Chat With The Gamestop Workers So They Can Get To Know You Somewhat. They'll Say Something Good About You. Make sure that your resume is skills focused and highlights what you are currently doing involving computers. If you have not used a cover letter in the past, make sure you do and that it is punchy and personalized to the person doing the hiring if at all possible.
