Both are good jobs, but a Medical Assistant is going to pay way more, and help you understand the stuff you need to know as a pediatrician. As an EMT/Paramedic you only treat patients for a short period of time, usually long enough to get vitals, a good medical history and assessment. The things you will learn in your growth as a EMT to Medic are very accelerated, but you only learn enough to get the patient to the hospital alive (give or take). A job as a Medical Assistant will better prepare you in the field of definitive patient care.
