Job opportunities for Chemical engineer in Oil&Drilling field?

What are the options available for Chem eng with IT Experience in Oil and Drilling field.it can be Offshore or On-site. Can some1 tel me more about Mud engineers and how to get into that field with my education background??

There is tons of work available but more in the refining end. There are lots of jobs in Chemical Valley in West Virginia and in Texas along the gulf coast.
My daughter in grad school is teaching undergrad safety courses to chemical engineering students.
