It depends what aspect of the industry you're looking to get into. Iron workers, electricians, millwrights and mechanics are all utilized during wind turbine erection. Mechanics and electricians are needed for operation and maintenance. People experienced with fibreglass and composite repairs are needed for blade work in both construction and O&M. A project management certificate would help you out if it was coupled with any of the above mentioned trades or experience. Of course, if you want to get more heavily into the techie/R&D stuff, a degree in engineering will be required. Getting into the high ranks of project management may also require an engineering degree, or business-related degree. Hope that helps.
Me, I'm a wind farm site supervisor.

You might need to look outside the UK - the biggest wind turbine manufacturer in the UK is Danish and based in the Isle of Wight has just closed it's factory and will only be doing R&D there until the market picks up. As a starting point you are likely to need a degree in Electrical Engineering, that is the sort of training you need, do a search on Trovit jobs and it tells you the sort of qualifications needed for the vacancies in the industry they have (which are in places like India rather than the UK)
