How can I get a job as a Sales Associate at Barneys New York?

there is a sales associate position open at a Barneys New York store, and I really want the job. I have a couple years experience working in a department store. what can I do to impress them with my application, resume, and hopefully interview? any tips from Barneys employees would be greatly appreciated!

If I were hiring, I would want to see enthusiasm, firm handshake, look me in the eye, not pushy, ask open ended questions, knowledge of the products, a sense of humor. You still have to be yourself or the customer will know. If you are yourself and you don't get hired, then that is nothing to be ashamed of. Also, if you have a book of customers, that would be a good asset.
