Which is more marketable: a Webmaster certificate or a Digital Design certificate?
Asked by Meg
I'm going back to school after recently getting a B.A. in English. My ultimate goal is to get into the M.A. of Professional Writing program at Clemson University and in the meantime, I want some computer skills. Any advice on which certificate is more marketable/useful would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

Dont get caught up in the school atmosphere as a bachelors is great and maybe a masters is even better! However, when u go to apply for jobs, the certificates hold little weight. You must prove your skills and if you know what your doing then they should hire you. English is related to more technical writing, copywriting, etc but going into computer is another playing field. I think the certificates are something that may help you look good, but not as necessary if your not going into web design. I dont think that the certificates will help market u as much as u want to get a web job. If these certificates are easy to obtain, do it! Or just find a way to get the skills and show them off in an interview. Good luck and hope this helps!

neither one has anything to with degrees in English or Writing and by themselves won;t get you a full time job with anything to do with computers - learning all the programs in Microsoft Office is a lot more useful than website design skills
