A buyer. Inventory coordinator is more clerical.

Inventory coordinator is probably just a supply clerk. Receiving the supplies, and stocking the shelves, and maybe receiving supply orders, filling them, and schlepping them to the users' desk/office. However, depending on the organization - inventory coordinator may possibly be someone higher up who is in charge of all equipment and all supplies all over the office. They may need to track serial numbers on electronic equipment, determine the best purchase sources for any new equipment, and even negotiate large purchases like a new MRI machine. Or not. The buyer probably just gets on the phone to a pre-set supplier, and puts in an order, or creates an invoice and mails, e-mails, or faxes it out. Or, the buyer could be the one who makes those big equipment decisions. You really need the official Job Description for each position to know who does what.
