How can I get back into nursing part time?
Asked by ExerciseFrogHeather
I worked in the ICU for 5 years and now have been in the business world for the last 3 yrs... Any nurses out there with advice? What would be an easy RN slot to get back into it...a parttime nursing home? A doctor's office? My RN license is active and CPR current too. What would you advise?

I have a Nurse sis and i always apply jobs online for her. if you have internet access at home, go to any health care/home care/nursing home company websites and apply online. they will call you sooner or latter.

I would call HR at a local hospital.

I would say it depends on what you are looking for... Acute or Non-Acute setting? I would suggest part time ER if you can handle it, because you get the 12 hour shift benefit. Or you can look into being a part time nursing supervisor?

Depending on where you live, its very difficult for new grad as well as nurse who been away from the field for while to find a job. You should secure a job before quitting your current one.. As far a nursing skills goes i believe that will always come back to you with practice.
