Asked by Natasha J
I can't found a job with either one of them. I now want to go for nursing aide, will I finally found a job and would it allow me to further with what I already went to school for. What I mean is if I get a job as a nursing aide, would it open the door for medical assistant and coding/billing?

Natasha, working as a CNA is a humbling position. You can get hired almost instantly in a nursing home or hospital as one. Why don't you shoot a little higher and work as a Phlebotomist? You can get a great career in drawing blood. Then you can be cross trained in working as a lab tech assistant as well. The world is yours, girl!

With coding/billing you can't just get a coding position right off without any experience, you have to pay your dues in this field and start out entry level and work your way up. And that's with most careers out there. I think you need to decide if you want to go the patient care route (CNA, phlebotomy, etc.) or the health information technology route which would be the coding/billing.
