including a photo of yourself on a restaurant server resume.. good idea or bad idea?
Asked by Ryan S
I'm preparing a resume to find a restaurant server job in the NYC area and have seen examples where a headshot was included on the resume. Obviously I wouldn't do this for a business related job, but because of the nature of the job is this a good idea? Or will it be discarded for being tacky/EOE concerns?

There's been much in the press lately about employers looking at job applicants on sites like facebook, myspace etc so it's likely that if they're bothered what you look like they'll probably look you up.
So maybe compromise, don't put your pic on your CV - it comes across a bit tacky unless a picture is specifically requested - and instead, put a good picture on your facebook/myspace page just in case.

I personally wouldn't do it. It just wouldn't look right.
Stick to the no picture. They'll give you a call if they're interested.

never put your picture on a resume.. It will put you in the no pile.. You shouldn't give any information you such as:
Age, race, religion, height/weight, martial status or things like that

Don't put a picture of yourself, they will see what you look like when you drop it off.

Its not recommended to put a photo on any resume except for positions like acting and the like.
many employers are concerned not to violate EEO laws.
I say leave the picture out!
Hope this helps
