How do I go about becoming a nanny/babysitter?

I know this sounds like a crazy question, but I really want to get a job as a nanny or babysitter. I am a college student and have most of my days off. I feel like people nowadays don't trust just anyone with their kids (and they shouldn't), so is there some site of "nanny directory" that exists? I really am clueless. Any help?

You can start by going on websites like care.com and sittercity.com But if you don't have any experience with kids getting a well paying job right off the bat it hard. I worked for 3 kids for a year at just 6 dollars and hour. You really have work your way up for more money over time.
