I've been trying to get a job with a medical lab for 6 months. I have eight of experience. What am I doing?

I've been trying to apply to the Red Cross for a few laboratory assistant slots. I have eight years of medical laboratory experience. What am I doing wrong?

Well it depends, you might be asking for too much salary, or possibly wanting to strict of a schedule. If you lower your salary demands even just by a dollar and hour you might get more response also if you agree to work nights or any schedule available then you may get a bite. For instance in my lab we are always hiring for nights and evenings but our day shifts are full. We also don't pay our lab assistants more than 8-10$ an hour. Also the economy is still pretty sh*tty and so a lot of hospitals aren't hiring except for the positions they need the most such as nights and weekends. I would try accepting a shift you don't want and working it for a short time like 3-6 months and then possibly you can switch shifts once you've been there a while and get the shift you want.
