Job working on ward reception? Question to nurses mainly...?
Asked by ,,,
Hi, well I have an interview soon and I know that the job requires one to wear a uniform. I am not really prepared to wear a skirt, I prefer trousers would that be okay? And also, would i have to cut my hair short? I am prepared to go shoulder length but I am not prepared to tie it back. I am uncomfortable with that.

Wear whatever you are comfortable in for the interview, as long as you look professional. No jeans. As for your hair, working in the hospital you don't need to have short hair. If it's long and you're doing direct patient care they sometimes require it be tied back or wear a cap depending on what area someone works in, but I cannot imagine a scenario where a receptionist would need to do that. Ask during your interview.

I am of the opinion any guidance you can find with interview questions is always gratefully accepted, because many people certainly dont understand what to expect, or indeed what to ask. There is plenty of instruction re interview questions on the website in the box below, they've got plenty of stuff to do with job hunting too.

Wear trousers and a blouse or something. It's not really a big problem. No you don't have to cut your hair off!! Stop being paranoid Wait til you see the state of the nurses you'll be working with
