What is the best way to get into retail with no retail/work experience?
Asked by Omega
I would assume most people with a lot of retail experience must have started somewhere. I find that a lot of retailers won't even give you a thought if you apply without retail experience.

Depending on how old you are &the availability you have you may have to start somewhere small &low paying. Stores like Sears &Target are constantly hiring and usually only look for a friendly face with the right availability. Being 18 or older also helps since they will be able to schedule you at any time that they please &not break any laws. Don't give up. Keep trying most stores provide training anyway. Good luck.

If you know someone at the store you are applying, that is your best bet. That was the only reason I got hired. Pitiful, I know, but that is what its all about nowadays.
