Alias or legal Name change?
Asked by Bella
I want to use a different name but I don't really want to deal with the court system. Is there any way I can have a new name??

Best Answer:
I work in a business that deals with families of deceased people trying to collect life insurance and death benefits. It gets difficult to collect when you have an alias and no way to pin your new name to your real identity. I would make sure you have both names on official paperwork. "Elvis the King a/k/a John Smith"

just ask everyone you know to start calling you whatever new name you pick. it won't be legal - you'll still have to use your real name in all business/financial/legal dealings - but socially you can be called whatever you want.
