Labcorp Reporting Results?
Asked by yes345
I am trying to figure out the process Labcorp uses in reporting pre-employment screens. My urine was collected at a hospital and they sent it to labcorp.I called and they said they sent the results out last sat. i called hr to see if they received everything and they said they haven't received anything. I called labcorp again and now I am confused. She said they don't fax anything, so how does my employer get my results? Do they send the results to the hospital and then they send it to my employer? I just don't understand how something could be posted last sat and almost a week later no one can find it....

Lab corp is a hugh company, they do thousands of lab reports. Yours may be lost, but usually it can take up to 2 weeks for the company to get your results. They will contact you if they don't get it.

I use Lab Corp for my company here and usually get the results within a couple of days unless there has been a problem of some sort. I receive an email with a secure link. I enter my security code and then I can pull up the confidential results.
Like I said, it is usually a pretty quick turnaround, but several things can postpone it such as the specimen needs further testing, the lab got backed up (happens occasionally), or even lost. If a sample comes up with a positive result, the MRO (Medical Review Officer) will call the person who gave the sample to discuss it and see if there is a legal reason for that particular substance to be in the urine (prescription, etc.). Sometimes, they are having difficulty reaching the person, which holds up the results even further.
There may be nothing wrong with your test, but they are falling behind for some reason, so don't panic. If your drug test were to come back with a positive result, you will know it before the employer because the MRO will call you to discuss anyway.
Good luck!
