Hi! I really need truthful honest experience answered and if your not going to do that please dont answer. I live in the state of Virginia. Okay so this year I got into a mess with being in the wrong place at the wrong time with some coworkers with someone elses credit card and I got in trouble with it for no reason. I got 3 misdemeanors on my record. Im going to school to study law and im also looking for a parttime job at a pharmacy like an associate or tech. I applied today at a rite aid one and I put down I have three misdemeanors I also told the store manager im a hard working person and Ive never had a bad reference or work experience. Do you think I should list the misdemeanors do they even check for that in background checks? Do you think they will consider me. Some people so dont list the misdemeanors because they dont come up. But im not sure. Please help guys!

Get it sealed or expunged so legally you don't have to acknowledge them. Employers do look at these and frown upon them. Some employeees don't check and some do but which. So to be safe I would list them if they ask have you ever been arrested or convictec be truthful.

well it says in the applications once u sign that you are telling the truth to the best of your knowledge and maybe if they found out later on after hiring you some how then you can get fired but maybe not. There are so many people without jobs that employers basically have pick of the litter to be honest. But you never know how they may look at it cause your boss could be cooler than shis and would be understanding as long as your upfront with him or her but tell them your true intentions. An online job sounds cool too just in case. Either way just be positive and I know everything will work out for the best for you no matter what.

I see these reports at my job and they include misdemeanors. But I would say this... I don't know that it's every potential employers business. I wouldn't include this information on a resume for example. And most applications only ask for felony convictions. Most employers don't run the check until they seriously consider the hire, or at least the interview. And at the interview you would be able to Briefly!, without excuses, explain if they asked about it. Otherwise I would not bring it up. Best of luck to you!

It's good to be honest at the beginning, so it don't bite you in the future. You have three misdemeanors on your record, if they asked if you have a record tell them you do and list them. Companies at times do random background checks and if they find out that you left your misdemeanors out on your application they'll fire you and that wouldn't look good when you try to get a a job practicing law. If they see that you have what it takes to work for their company they'll call you in for an interview and ask you about your misdemeanors. That's when you explain that it wasn't your fault. If you don't get that position try here at this site. They'll help you find something in your situation. Hard2Hire.org
