My boyfriend is studying the same thing, only his degree is considered a BSBA. He plans to get a masters in systems engineering. You can work as a software engineer if you start building your career starting now. Go apply for co-ops or internships relating to systems. By the time you graduate, apply for a full time position relating to software engineer, then go on to study software engineers as a masters.
