You don't know me
Does "retail sales" include grocery cashier? (Doing job application)?
Asked by You don't know me
I'm doing a Walmart application and it asks, "How much experience do you have in retail sales?" and then it asks "how much experience do you have in grocery sales?" Well I was a cashier in a grocery store so I know the answer to the second question but does being a cashier count as retail sales?

Best Answer:
Yes any end user sales are considered retail sales.

fill out the years of experience you have. You want to get an INTERVIEW to be able to clarify what you mean. That's not lying....just tell them that you DO have experience, you have several years of being a cashier, which you take to mean sales experience. Why limit your chances of getting an interview by limiting your answers on basically a standardized form that isn't applicable to each individuals experience. Now, if you were applying to a boutique clothing store, where the sales girls get mainly commissions, and are actually SALES people....that would be a different story. Good luck.
