i need job advice ???!!?
Asked by zack
First off im 19 years old and my life's goal is to get into the USMC. But my problem is that im 200 lbs overweight. I want a labor job because I want to get in shape but im not looking for anything long term, i just want to become physically fit. So far iv had allot of trouble finding a job like this given my age and physical stature. and the economy isn't helping. My new idea is that I find a small construction contractor or a noncooperate owned business that needs heavy laborers. Or concrete layers and removers which is what i want most. Tell them my situation and offer to work for free for a few weeks or so to see if I take to the job and they deem me worthy to work for them. Im Also willing sign any contracts that might apply with this idea.
i live in the Joliet IL area, if anyone who reads this knows of someone or needs a laborer themselves, email me

If you want to drop weight fast look for a fitness bootcamp in your area. Sometimes ex military conduct these. You won't get paid to do it but it will provide you with the motivation you need to work at it.
Another thought is maybe you could work at a gym or a warehouse. Both of those would help you to move around stay active.
You might try placing a cragslist ad looking for someone to workout with on a regular basis.
As far as the construction thing goes, you might find someone who would give you a shot. I can't imagine a boss passing up someone who offers to work for free. That shows you are motivated.
Good luck brother.
