TRUCK DRIVER!???????????

im currently a meat cutter for a local supermarket, been one since i turned 18. im 20 years old. i like the job but i want to see what else is out there. one of my friends advised me to be a truck driver because they make more money and get to travel. im goin to get my CDL license and see if it's good. HOW MUCH DO THEY MAKE? DO THEY MAKE MORE THAN MEAT CUTTERS? I MAKE $18 AN HOUR. I was a truck driver for 18 years.If you want to be away from your family and never get home. Stay in your truck 22 hours a day plus when its cold listen to the dispatcher about don't idle your truck or when its hot hear the same thing. Then truck driving may be suited for you. Oh and the only real stuff you see driving a truck is what you can see from your windshield. Because most places don't want big trucks on or near their parking areas. 36000 a year is about average.Hope you didn't pay to much for your CDL school. It does come in handy like I still use mine out hear on the farm hauling grain to market and dump truck and stuff. Be sure you understand all the new rules DOT has for hours of service. Starting in January they will be able to see how long your truck has been moving down the road before your 10 hour break.
