Eric
Question involving contract law and client rights?
Asked by Eric
I'm not sure if Alltel is much of a national company, but Verizon just bought them out here in Ohio. I've been with Alltel for several years and have a current contract with them. Now, Verizon is in the process of switching everything over. Since I signed with Alltel can I refuse to do business with Verizon, or is the acceptance of the clients guaranteed legally to Verizon? I have not yet paid a Verizon bill, so what are my chances of a clean break?

I don't know much about the law aspects of this, but I imagine this is a good chance for a clean break. Unless however they're keeping all your service and rates the same, then you might be stuck. If they change your service at all then you can get out I think. Check your contract agreement for something like this.
