How am i supposed to gain skills and experience without being employed beforehand.. It depends what type of job your applying for and what experience and qualifications you already have. At the moment, with the current state of the job sector, employers can pick and choose from the cream of the crop due to redundancies and recent graduates. If there is a certain sector you are aiming for you could look into courses that will help you gain more or better qualifications. You can normally get funding to help you pay for these courses if you meet a certain criteria. You could also try to get some work experience by volunteering or working for free. On the other hand it could be that you just need to change your CV or be more thorough in your application form. You should customise your CV for every job you apply for to best exhibit your skills and experience. A great cover letter can also help show why you are the best candidate for the job. At the end of the day you should read the person specification for the job and see if you your skills and experience are matching. If they are then you should show this as best as you can in your Cv or application form. Don't despair and don't give up. Things are tough at the minute but if you keep applying and really sell yourself then you will get noticed. It's coming up to Christmas so you could hit the high street and hand in CV's to local shops looking for Christmas staff. Good luck!!

You can't unless you get a degree from a technical college or academy. There are however jobs that do not require any experiences. Search through the newspaper and ask them if experience is required. Otherwise, you need to first invest your time in jobs that you can list under your experience. These jobs may not pay you much and can be found though colleges, job fairs, newspapers, and internet. Your first job, I would recommend is visiting business to business where they have a demand for a hire. If you want to start sales at bloomingdale, you would need to move up by starting at a local retails. Don't hesitate to take a small pay job. If you want to work at applebees, start from any smaller restaurant.
