What are the pros and cons of working night shift?
Asked by Rush2112
Hey everyone. I am recently desiring to upgrade from part-time to a full-time position, but the job is pure night shift. The hours are 10-6:30 for 5 days a week. I was just wondering what any of you (maybe from personal experience) could share about a nightshift experience. I'm only 20 years old, and I'm not being forced to do this by any outside party whatsoever, but I just wat full-time money. Would it be worth it? Or should I wait for a more convenient position timewise? Thanks :)

i have worked before from 4Am to noon shift.. and right now i am working regular hours, friendly speaking right now if i think the shift from 4 to noon is better because you have lots of time to do other stuff... in your case right now u are 20 yrs old, i would suggest you to try that position, because it depend from person to person also you don't have family to take care... about the cons: some days you will fill odd and otherwise i m not seeing any other major problem.. pros: you will have some extra time in the day time to do stuff... and main you will have job in this market... so i think you should take this job.. good luck...

You are young and you would be able to do the night shift with no problem. It might take you a little while to adjust but you can do it. I used to work the night shift,11:00 to 7:00 at one job for a year and then moved on to a different job and worked 12:00- 8 six days a week.It was tough when I first started but I got used to it very quickly. If you can sleep during the day working at night is a breeze. One advantage to working nights is you can get things done during the day when many other people have to work.I used to come home,do laundry, errands, grocery shopping and then go to bed for 6 to 7 hours and then get up and go to work. The money is worth it if you can sleep days!!!
