Best Answer:
some states allow partial unemployment - in Penna. you can earn up to 40% of your weekly benefit check without losing a single dollar of unemployment benefits - any earnings above that (and below 40 hrs a week) reduce you UC benefits dollar for dollar
been there, done that - many times

no dear UNemployment, means you are not employed, a part time job IS employment! Nice try, but no cigar!

Sure they just work out the reward with the PT income into the figure and you get the results or difference. So yes.

No, unemployment is for the TRULY unemployed. Sadly, there are many thousands of people who take advantage of this and collect unemployment, then get paid cash "under the table" from an employer.

The answer may differ from state to state, but in my state, you can collect partial unemployment compensation if you were working full time, but are now only working part time.
Check with your unemployment office. Don't delay. There is a one week waiting period where I live.

In the state where I live, if you are laid off from your primary employment and qualify for unemployment compensation, you may still draw a portion of the unemployment comp. based upon what your part-time job pays. i.e. if your unemployment pays 230 per wk, and your part-time job earns you 120 per wk, they will subtract the 120 from the 230 leaving you with a net unemployment check of 110 per wk. This varies state to state, so you should check it out in your state, for an accurate answer.
